Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following proper techniques and recipes.
- Maintain a sanitized work environment by cleaning workstations, surfaces, and storage areas regularly.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and ovens.
- Support meal assembly and plating by adhering to menu specifications and presentation standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep and ensure smooth workflow during busy service times.
- Follow all food safety protocols and safety standards in production to prevent contamination or accidents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with dietary aide duties or menu planning is a plus.
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures is essential.
- Basic culinary skills such as knife handling, slicing techniques, and meal preparation are highly desirable.
