Job Summary:
The Die Repair & Press Support Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and supporting stamping dies and press operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position works closely with the Tool Room, Press Room, and Production teams to minimize downtime, improve die performance, and support press setup and production troubleshooting activities.
The Tech supports and guides Press Operators by sharing technical knowledge, assisting with troubleshooting, and helping reinforce safe operating practices, quality standards, and efficient production methods. This position also contributes to continuous improvement efforts and supports overall operational efficiency throughout the Press Room.

Job Responsibilities:
Press Operation & Production Support
- Support stamping press operations by assisting with setups, startups, adjustments, and production troubleshooting
- Work closely with Press Operators, Setup Technicians, and Supervisors to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production flow
- Apply strong mechanical troubleshooting skills to resolve tooling, press, and production-related issues
- Support production activities across all shifts and assist in maintaining productivity, efficiency, and part quality
- Assist in troubleshooting quality or production concerns during active press operation
Training & Mentoring
- Assist in training and supporting Press Operators and Setup personnel on tooling, troubleshooting, quality standards, and safe operating procedures
- Share technical knowledge and best practices related to die maintenance, setups, and production support
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments regarding tooling and production concerns
Tool & Die Setup / Removal / Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and support progressive, transfer, and line dies
- Perform die setups, adjustments, removals, and startup support according to production schedules and specifications
- Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and dies, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, sharpening, fitting, grinding, welding, and assembly work
- Inspect tooling and dies for wear, damage, or quality concerns and perform repairs as needed
- Diagnose and correct tooling and press-related issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Assist with die modifications and tooling improvements to improve efficiency, quality, and overall die performance
- Maintain tooling documentation and communicate repair status effectively
Quality Responsibilities:
- Ensure all processes are performed according to Agritek’s QMS and ISO standards
- Document quality activities accurately and ensure no defective parts move through production
- Coach operators on quality standards and best practices
- Correctly identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department leader
- Ensure all production and inventory entries are complete and accurate
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment enhancements and efficiency gains
- Offer suggestions to improve die performance, tooling, and workflow
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and tooling performance
Safety & Workplace Standards
- Follow all OSHA Safety rules and company policies to prevent accidents
- Maintain plant equipment, company property and support fellow employees
- Safely operate cranes, forklifts, hand tools, grinders, welders, and other equipment
- Support a strong safety culture
- Help maintain Company equipment, tooling, and property in good working condition
Key Performance Indicators:
- Job/die setup instructions are followed and completed in a timely manner
- Preserve equipment and improve tooling performance
- Offer suggestions to improve die performance, tooling, and workflow
- Meet or exceed productivity and efficiency standards
- Ensure operators are properly trained and performing effectively
- Adherence to quality standards resulting in no customer rejections
- Safety and production processes and procedures are followed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Formal training preferred or at least 5 years of related experience in die repair
- Proven integrity and performance
- Must be team oriented, flexible, and willing to be used when and where needed to help keep production on schedule
- Strong mechanical and engineering aptitude
- Proven ability to train and mentor operators, ensuring quality and productivity standards
- Results-oriented, proactive, and able to identify opportunities for improvement
- A demonstrated history of excellent work attendance, longevity and job stability
- Team-oriented and self-directed
Starting Hourly Rate:
- $30 - $34/hour plus quarterly performance-based bonus tied to safety, quality, and productivity
