Laundry is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of linens and other laundry items, ensuring a clean and organized laundry area, and assisting in the overall upkeep of the facility. The Laundry hours 5:30am to 2pm
Responsibilities & Duties
- Collect soiled laundry, sort, wash, dry, fold and distribute linens, towels and other items
- Operates washing machines and dryers to clean linens and other items
- Maintains laundry equipment clean, good working order, follow safety procedures and reports any needed repairs/maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure proper use of detergents and other cleaning agents
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary
- Understand and adhere to facility policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care, is preferred but not required
- Ability to perform in a high stress, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
Physical Demands and Environment
Shift work is required, employee may be required to stand for extended periods, sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk and hear.
