Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, steering, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery to execute repairs efficiently and safely.
- Service specialized systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components on diverse vehicle types including diesel engines and GM vehicles.
- Read technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems repair issues effectively.
- Ensure all work complies with dealership standards and safety regulations while delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication about repairs needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or similar settings.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive suspension systems, transmissions, diesel engines, brake systems, and electrical components.
- Ability to perform heavy equipment mechanics tasks including auto body repair and auto estimating when necessary.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Valid certification or licensing related to automotive repair; ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to vehicle maintenance and repair environments.
