This position may be an excellent fit for an individual who enjoys being part of a school environment and contributing to the success of an afterschool program but prefers a support and organizational role rather than a position involving primary responsibility for working directly with students. You will have the opportunity as needed to work with student. This would include managing general attendance/check-in, providing coverage for support staff as needed, and supervising playground and bus duty.
The CatCH Program Assistant member is an important part of the program's team. By preparing spaces, organizing materials, maintaining supplies, and anticipating the needs of staff, this position allows the CatCH team to focus their time and attention on providing high-quality care and programming for students.
The CatCH Afterschool Program Assistant member provides essential clerical, organizational, and operational support to the CatCH afterschool program. This position plays an important role in ensuring that the program is prepared, organized, clean, and ready to provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students each afternoon.
The CatCH Afterschool Program Assistant member works primarily behind the scenes and does not have primary responsibility for direct student supervision or instruction. This position supports the CatCH staff by anticipating program needs, preparing materials and spaces, maintaining supplies and linens, and completing routine organizational tasks that help the program operate smoothly.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, organized, and proactive. The ability to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction is essential to the success of this position.

Prepare CatCH spaces and materials prior to student arrival each afternoon.

Prepare and organize student bags and other materials needed for the day's program.

Ensure classrooms and activity spaces are appropriately set up and ready for students and staff.

Launder, fold, organize, and maintain program linens as needed.

Monitor supplies and notify the appropriate staff when items need to be replenished or replaced.

Assist CatCH staff with general program preparation and operational needs.

Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are readily accessible to staff.

Complete routine clerical, organizational, and housekeeping tasks that support the daily operation of the program.

Help maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming program environment.

Anticipate the needs of CatCH staff and take appropriate action to address those needs.

Assist with transitions and other operational tasks as directed by the CatCH program leadership.

Follow all school district and CatCH program policies, procedures, and safety expectations.

Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school district information.

Perform other duties as assigned that support the effective operation of the CatCH program.
School Days: 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The position begins approximately one hour before students arrive to allow time for preparation and organization. Students typically arrive at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The position may require frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying supplies or materials, and performing routine cleaning and organizational tasks.
The employee will work in a school and afterschool program environment and must be able to work effectively in an environment where students, staff, and normal school activity are present. All employees must have fingerprinting background check and Agency of Human Services background check to work with minors.
