The Financial Controller, Depot Services will oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of joint venture entities supporting depot and maintenance operations. This role operates within a complex, multi-entity environment and includes responsibility for general ledger management, financial reporting, and administration of operating agreements including capital calls, funding, and financing activities. The position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to operate effectively in a partially manual environment while supporting system integration and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Manage general ledger postings including interest, depreciation, accruals, provisions, and lease accounting (IFRS 16 / ASC 842)
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Prepare financial reporting for management and stakeholders
- Administer operating agreement provisions including capital calls and financing activities
- Oversee sales tax reporting and compliance with state and local authorities
- Provide financial reporting to external tax advisors
- Maintain fixed assets and inventory balances
- Coordinate with operational partners to obtain financial data
- Support system implementation and process improvements
- Supervise a Senior Accountant
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Strong general ledger and financial close experience
- Experience in multi-entity or partnership environments preferred
- Knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842 / IFRS 16)
- Demonstrated proficiency operating within enterprise-grade ERP and accounting systems in complex, multi-entity environments (e.g. SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills required
- CPA preferred; equivalent experience considered
