Job Overview
The Job Developer plays a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities discover their strengths, explore career interests, and achieve successful, long-term employment in the community. This position works directly with participants and employers to build inclusive workplaces, foster independence, and support a person-centered approach to career development.
Duties
- Guide participants through the Discovery process to identify interests, skills, and job preferences.
- Collaborate with the Job Developer Manager to identify meaningful job opportunities and develop employer partnerships.
- Conduct intake interviews and assessments with new participants.
- Coordinate and oversee apprenticeships, interviews, and onboarding for job seekers.
- Support participants and Job Coaches during the first day of employment, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Facilitate all necessary employment documentation between the participant, employer, and organization.
- Maintain accurate case notes, progress reports, and communication with the Workforce Development team.
- Step in to substitute for Job Coaches as needed to maintain participant support and program consistency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in employment services, workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, disability services or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of strong leadership experience with the ability to supervise, train, motivate, support and manage all assigned staff.
- Knowledge of Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) programs, supported employment, and vocational rehabilitation services.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other barriers to employment.
- Supervisory experience, including staff training, coaching, payroll, and performance management.
- Valid MI drivers license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel within the service area as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Google Calendar

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
