International Chemicals, a wholly owned subsidiary of SMC Global, is seeking a safe, dependable, and customer-focused Regional CDL Class A Driver to join our team.
This salaried position requires flexibility to support business needs. Drivers can expect a combination of:
- Multiple daily local runs between San Angelo and Midland/Odessa
- Regional two-day routes
- Occasional long-haul trips to Georgia and South Carolina ($80 per diem for overnight)
Weekend runs are required as needed based on customer demand and must be completed in compliance with DOT Hours of Service regulations.
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for driving a tanker truck, ISO containers, Flat bed, or box truck to transport Hazardous materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete a daily ELD truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at EOD
- Complete pre-post trip inspections. Report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
- Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
- Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
- Demonstrate professionalism and provide exception customer service
- Follow all applicable traffic laws
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
- Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (min 1 year driving exp)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Class A driver’s license in good standing
- Hazmat required
- Tanker Endorsements required
- No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years
- No DWI/DUI in last 10 years
- TWIC Card preferred, but will be given time to get.
