Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction inspection services in Sitka, Alaska. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following:
- Perform detailed inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship across multiple disciplines, including structural, architectural, and civil construction.
- Review project documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to assess compliance.
- Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders including contractors, quality control personnel, and government representatives.
- Support oversight of project delivery methods such as design-bid-build and design-build.
Place of Performance: Sitka, Alaska
Salary: $114,000.00 - $156,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour day shift Monday to Friday
Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors:
- High School Level Education
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience on similar projects (e.g., building construction, marine/waterfront projects)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of building and construction trades, including inspection and/or installation experience
- Proven ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts.
- Experience as a construction superintendent, providing both supervision and QA/QC duties.
- Experience with facility and building systems (building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural, etc.) as well as managing all building trades, subcontracts and construction safety.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements.
- Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
Federal Project Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience on Federal construction projects in roles such as:
- Construction Inspector
- Contractor Superintendent
- Quality Control Manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on Coast Guard design-build construction projects, Federal design-build projects in Alaska, and/or Background in marine or waterfront construction projects.
