Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands.
- Conduct maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC systems, and more.
- Execute vehicle maintenance tasks including brake repair, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and tire service.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand electrical systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for inventory management.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Dealership experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair techniques for various types of vehicles including tractor-trailers.
- Experience with heavy lifting and operating heavy equipment safely is essential.
- Strong skills in electrical systems repair and soldering are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
