Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficiency and longevity of equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC system problems involving refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical components.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, explain repair options, and deliver excellent customer service throughout service visits.
- Follow safety protocols and EPA regulations during handling refrigerants and performing system repairs or installations.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation.
- Service technician experience with hands-on work repairing HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to HVAC design and building automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of plumbing, electrical diagnostics, boiler operation, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Skilled in using hand tools and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters for precise diagnostics.
- Familiarity with HVAC system maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to field service tasks.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R are preferred.
