Ohio Medicaid Billing Specialist (Home Care)

BrightStar Care of Columbus is seeking an experienced Medicaid Billing Specialist to join our growing team. We are an established, multi-payor home care agency that has proudly served Franklin County since 2008.
Ohio Medicaid billing experience is required. Applicants without direct Ohio Medicaid billing experience will not be considered.
If you are detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing Medicaid claims from submission through payment, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit Ohio Medicaid claims for skilled and non-skilled (HCBS) services
- Bill and manage claims with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), including Anthem, AmeriHealth Caritas, Molina Healthcare, CareSource, and UnitedHealthcare
- Post payments and reconcile remittances
- Investigate claim denials, submit corrected claims, and manage appeals
- Reconcile Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) records with billing
- Assist with billing for additional payors, including Franklin County Senior Options, Private Pay, Veterans Affairs (VA), and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) (training provided)
Required Qualifications
- Direct Ohio Medicaid billing experience (required)
- Experience using Medicaid MCO provider portals
- Strong understanding of claims processing, adjudication, denials, and appeals
- Working knowledge of EVV systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow aging accounts through resolution
- Reliable attendance and ability to work on-site in our Columbus office
Preferred Qualifications
- Billing experience in home care, home health, or hospice
- Experience with Medicaid billing software and clearinghouses
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills

- Monday–Friday
- 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- In-office position (not remote)
