The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for the overall operational, clinical, financial, and strategic leadership of the Emergency Department on a 24/7 basis. This leader will oversee patient care delivery, departmental operations, staffing, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement efforts.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Emergency Services
- Lead all human resource, staffing, budgeting, and fiscal management functions
- Drive quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, DOH, OSHA, EMTALA, and other regulatory standards
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered culture
- Partner effectively with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration
- Mentor and support managers, coordinators, and frontline clinical staff
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
- Master’s Degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related field) required or willingness to complete within designated timeframe
- Current RN license
- Minimum 3–5 years of Emergency Department leadership experience at the Manager or Director level
- Strong experience with ED operations, staffing, budgeting, and performance improvement
- Knowledge of regulatory/accreditation standards and emergency services operations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
