A Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, or materials to designated locations while maintaining vehicle condition and providing professional service.Key Responsibilities
- Transporting goods: Safely drive our cargo to specified destinations on time, following traffic laws and company policies
- Route planning: Use navigation systems and knowledge of traffic conditions to determine the most efficient routes
- Vehicle maintenance: Assure regular inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning of vehicles; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Loading and unloading: Handle packages, equipment safely, ensuring secure storage during transit
- Customer service: Interact professionally with staff, donors, clients, other agencies, and members of the public, assist with packages, and provide information when needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and vehicle operation
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary .
- Punctuality, reliability, and good time management skills
- Interpersonal skills for professional interaction with clients, and colleagues
Work Environment
- Standard work schedule would be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the operation of the center.
- Driving conditions can vary from rural roads, urban streets to highways, and in some cases, difficult weather.
