Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive dining programs that meet the nutritional needs of residents while aligning with organizational standards and regulations.
- Lead and supervise culinary staff, dietitians, and support personnel to ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to create personalized care plans that incorporate dietary requirements such as tube feeding, patient assessment, and specialized nutrition protocols.
- Manage the dietary department’s budget, procurement processes, inventory control, and vendor relationships to optimize resources efficiently.
- Oversee compliance with health codes, safety regulations, and documentation related to food safety, allergy management, and dietary restrictions.
- Conduct regular training sessions on physiology knowledge, health coaching techniques, and care plan updates to ensure team expertise remains current.
- Evaluate menu offerings through diagnostic evaluation methods to enhance variety, nutritional value, and resident satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within dietary services or healthcare settings, particularly in assisted living or similar environments.
- Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Knowledge of physiology principles related to nutrition and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience in budgeting, procurement, and resource management within a dietary department.
- Familiarity with care plans involving specialized diets such as tube feeding or other medical nutritional therapies.
- Excellent understanding of dietetics principles combined with practical application in a healthcare context.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations of menus and dietary programs for continuous improvement.
