Our company is seeking to hire a full time Construction Project Estimator candidate. This position will work closely with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Field Superintendent. The ideal candidate will be organized, punctual, self-motivated and dependent.
Responsibilities:
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for CMU, brick, stone, veneer, and other masonry scopes.
- Prepare detailed and accurate project estimates and bid proposals.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Analyze project risks, schedules, and labor requirements.
- Coordinate with in-house project managers, field superintendent, and estimators during the bidding process.
- Maintain estimating databases and cost tracking information.
- Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications required.
- Experience in masonry estimating or construction estimating preferred.
- College degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related construction discipline is a plus.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar programs.
- Knowledge of masonry materials, labor production rates, and construction practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Computer Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- General knowledge of office protocol and procedures.
