Exeter Inn & Epoch Restaurant, under new management by Greenwich Hospitality Group, is seeking an experienced and motivated Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary team.

We are looking for a talented culinary professional with strong banquet and restaurant experience who is passionate about quality, creativity, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
The Banquet Sous Chef will assist in overseeing banquet and kitchen operations, support menu development, maintain high food quality standards, and lead kitchen staff in delivering exceptional service for both banquet events and restaurant guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook banquet and restaurant menu items to established standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health and sanitation regulations
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen team members
- Assist with menu development, seasonal specials, and recipe execution
- Select and maintain high-quality ingredients to ensure exceptional flavor and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and cost control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Work effectively in a fast-paced setting, especially during high-volume events and service periods
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team to achieve operational goals
- Follow all safety procedures when working with kitchen equipment, knives, and hot surfaces
- Step into additional operational duties as needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Culinary training or equivalent professional kitchen experience
- Previous banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently under pressure
- Creative approach to food preparation and presentation
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
