Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team and ensure that products consistently meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. The successful candidate will provide technical quality support across engineering, production, suppliers, inspectors, and customers, while driving effective root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer specifications, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to provide guidance and technical support to production, engineering, and purchasing teams.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the launch of new parts, ensuring quality requirements are incorporated throughout the product and manufacturing development process.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Quality Inspectors in addressing portable CMM inspection programming issues and inspection method related questions.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure quality requirements and specifications are understood and consistently achieved.
- Develop, maintain, and implement quality plans, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), PFMEAs, Control Plans, and inspection procedures, including preparing and PPAP’s to customers.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and participate in customer site visits for sorting and quality improvement activities as needed.
- Manage internal and external quality non-conformances, including root cause investigation, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Perform other quality-related duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Quality Manager.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience. CQE designation is considered an asset.
- 3–7 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production.
- Proficiency in GD&T, inspection methods, welding quality standards, and fabrication processes.
- Experience with Faro Arm, CMM programming, and digital measurement technologies preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Experience in creating making-up prints with print change suggestions and creating manufacturing drawings.
- Experience using FARO arms and PolyWorks programming is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while working in a fabrication environment.
