About Position:
This position allows you to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care by using your expertise within the framework of evidence-based nursing practice and the theory of human caring. As an RN, you'll have the rewarding responsibility of ensuring individualized care and positive patient outcomes throughout their entire journey. You'll also have the opportunity to serve as a resource RN within the Acute Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehabilitation.
Nature and Scope:
- Provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety needs.
- Ensure care meets quality standards as measured by unit/department special populations competency standards.
- Include family or significant individuals in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts when possible.
- Coordinate care between professionals in the role of Acute Care Float RN.
- Apply evidence-based nursing practice and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal, safe patient care.
- Exercise judgment and make decisions when interacting with internal and external contacts.
- Follow professional nursing practice in accordance with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
- Float to Acute Care hospitals within Renown Health, working in departments where competencies have been demonstrated.
This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
- Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
- Experience: One year of acute care experience preferred.
- License(s): Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
- Certification(s): BLS required. ACLS certification by American Heart Association standards required within six (6) months of hire.
- Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
