About the jobFinest Fabrication builds custom millwork, casework, and fabricated products for commercial and specialty clients. We're looking for a Shop Helper to support the shop floor — keeping the place clean and organized, moving material, and assisting our builders and finishers. This is an entry-level role with a clear path forward: we'd rather hire someone hungry with no experience than someone experienced with no drive. If you show up, work hard, and learn, this turns into a builder, CNC operator, or finisher position. What you'll do
- Keep the shop clean and organized — sweeping, dust collection, trash, tool and material put-away
- Move sheet goods, lumber, hardware, and finished product around the shop and onto trucks
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack (we'll train and certify you if you're not already)
- Sand parts and assemblies to prep for finish
- Assist builders with assembly, hardware install, and clamping
- Help load and unload deliveries; verify material against packing slips
- Assist with packaging, crating, and blanket-wrapping product for shipment
- Basic machine and tool upkeep — blades, filters, bits, changing abrasives
- Whatever else the shop needs on a given day
What we need from you
- Show up on time, every day, ready to work
- Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet all day
- Comfortable in a dusty, loud, industrial environment
- Follow directions and ask questions when you don't understand something
- Take care of tools and equipment like they're your own
- Willing to learn and take feedback
- Valid driver's license
- No experience required
Nice to have (not required)
- Forklift experience or certification
- Any woodworking, construction, or manufacturing background
- Experience with hand tools and power tools
- Basic tape measure and math skills (fractions)
