Shop Technician

This is a hands-on opportunity to build valuable technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting engineering and manufacturing operations by preparing and assembling components, inspecting parts for quality, and helping maintain equipment and shop operations. This position offers strong exposure to manufacturing processes and is an excellent entry point for individuals interested in long-term growth within engineering or advanced manufacturing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare parts and fixturing for production, ensuring materials are ready for processing
- Clean, oil, and prep components to meet quality and production standards
- Operate cleaning equipment (including steam cleaning systems) and perform basic maintenance
- Organize and load materials for processing according to established procedures
- Rack and secure parts to prevent damage and ensure quality outcomes
- Assemble simple fixtures and components using drawings and work instructions
- Inspect parts for quality, identifying defects or nonconformance
- Perform basic measurement and inspection activities (including laser scanning for flatness)
- Record inspection results and communicate quality concerns as needed
- Clean, inspect, and perform minor repairs to extend the life of tooling and fixtures
- Support general shop upkeep, including organization, minor facility maintenance, and outdoor tasks as needed
- Assist with additional shop or production tasks based on business needs
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, construction, or similar environment
- Interest in learning and developing skills within manufacturing or engineering
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or process-related issues
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely
- Ability to read work instructions and basic technical drawings
- Familiarity with measurements (metric and imperial) and basic inspection tools
- Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to take on a variety of tasks in a dynamic shop environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable with standing, bending, kneeling, and other physical activity throughout the day
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
