Hands-On Staff Accountant to manage daily accounting operations—including A/P, A/R, PR, and month-end close—while preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and ad-hoc requests. Ensure compliance with GAAP and improve accounting processes. This role requires 3–5 years of experience and advanced proficiency in Excel.
Core Responsibilities
- Month-End Close & Reporting: Perform monthly and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and closing the general ledger.
- Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and sub-ledger reconciliations.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports (balance sheet, P&L) for management review.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the chart of accounts, ensure accurate coding, and record financial data.
- Operational Support: Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate vendor payments and collections.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure GAAP compliance, support internal/external audits, and assist with tax compliance (sales tax, tax returns).
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement efficiencies in accounting workflows.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience; public accounting or specialized industry experience a plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with various accounting software systems.
- Technical Accounting: Strong knowledge of GAAP; industry-specific regulations a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, ability to work independently and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or pursuing certification.
- Film industry accounting experience a plus but not required
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
