The office at Sun West Mobile Modular, Inc is always on standby to help their crews and the transportation manager is on call for the drivers until they park their trucks at the end of their day.
Start and end times vary. As early as 4am, normally 5/6am start time. But to maintain curfew laws, some early pickup times at the factory may occur.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport oversize loads locally.
- Able to set up and teardown modular building as “construction sets” includes placing pier/jackstands under buildings, leveling them, adding cross drive anchors, or dismantling buildings prior to hauling.
- Utilize CDL and premium skills such as manual transmission and tractor-trailer experience.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of freight while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the vehicle.
- Collaborate with dispatch to plan efficient route driving.
Qualifications
- ABILITY TO DRIVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION
- Valid CDL license
- Experience in driving oversize loads
- Proficiency in manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to operate various types of trailers (e.g., flatbed, tanker)
- Prior experience with regional route driving
- Strong background in load and unload procedures
- Knowledge of automotive repair is a plus
