Job Summary
The DBS Packaging Material Handler is responsible for assisting the Packaging Supervisor and Line Lead in current standard operating procedures related to the handling of raw materials, allocating, returning components back to the warehouse, bulk in a process defined, accurate and safe manner to adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Responsibilities to include executing tasks and duties to service the packaging department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the duties and responsibilities for this job, rank by the percentage of time spent doing each required activity. Each employee is expected to encourage safe practices and enforce safety policies. A minimum of two duties are required. Update the “Total Percentage” field to ensure maximum value equals 100%
- Responsible for supporting and filling manufacturing.
- Ensuring the following of written processes for materials handling throughout manufacturing.
- Communicate to necessary team members out of stock materials or inaccuracy.
- Communicating and reporting to Packaging department and Warehouse.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reporting counts to Line Lead and Warehouse staff.
- Maintain product weight within specifications.
- Constantly monitor the appearance of the product and take necessary corrective actions to maintain it within specifications
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent and 1 year production experience
- Knowledge of packaging concepts, principles and best practices
- Intermediate computer and math skills
- Understanding of cGMP and Lean principles
- Ability to stay organized and deal with multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate well with teams of employees both verbal and written
- Keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product or operations issues
- Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions of time
