The company's business scope includes the sale and leasing of various construction and material handling equipment. Due to the growing service and rental fleet volume in the Equipment Department, we need a dedicated mechanic to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on construction and material-handling equipment, including excavators, forklifts, loaders, and skid steers. This role will reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability and safety, support faster turnaround for customer and internal needs, and help control repair costs by handling more work in-house.
Job Duties:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (PM) on excavators, forklifts, loaders, and skid steers, including fluids, filters, belts, lubrication, and wear parts
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues; determine root causes and recommend repair solutions
- Complete repairs and component replacements (e.g., hoses, cylinders, pumps, seals, brakes, batteries, starters/alternators) to return equipment to service quickly and safely
- Conduct operational and safety checks after repairs; ensure equipment meets company and manufacturer safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage logs; communicate repair status, ETA, and equipment condition to the team
- Keep the shop and service area clean and compliant; follow safety procedures; assist with basic parts inventory, tool organization, and emergency repair support when needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a mechanic for heavy equipment, construction equipment, or forklifts/material-handling equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems; working knowledge of hydraulic and basic electrical systems
- Ability to read service manuals and parts diagrams and perform repairs using standard shop tools
- Safety-minded, dependable, and able to handle physically demanding work (lifting, bending; indoor and outdoor work)
- Bilingual Mandarin/English is a plus
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
