We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile compounding for IV infusions and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Manage medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating patient records, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing medication information and answering basic questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare medications for dispensing in accordance with medical terminology ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
- Maintain inventory levels of medications, including LTC pharmacy supplies and critical care drugs, while adhering to storage guidelines.
- Perform medication administration tasks as directed, supporting clinical staff in acute care settings with timely medication delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience preferred (but not required) working as a pharmacy technician in retail, LTC or acute care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle intake procedures accurately while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
