Overview
The Therapeutic Staff Support plays a crucial role in providing direct support and assistance to individuals with behavioral and developmental challenges. This position involves working closely with adolescent females (ages 12-17) to implement therapeutic strategies, promote positive behaviors, and enhance overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and demonstrate compassion and patience in their interactions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct support to clients in various settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of client progress and interventions.
- Conduct data collection on client behaviors and responses to interventions for ongoing assessment.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, promoting independence while providing necessary support.
- Engage clients in therapeutic activities that promote social skills, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities by adapting activities to meet their unique needs.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with adolescent behaviors relevant to behavioral health settings.
- Skills in documentation practices.
- Ability to perform data collection effectively for client assessments.
- Proficiency in behavior management strategies to support adolescents effectively.
- Previous experience in patient care or related fields is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Valid drivers license.
