Vegetation Control Technician – Independent Field Role (Travel Required)

Cutting Edge is a professional vegetation control company servicing 8,000+ wireless tower sites across Texas and New Mexico. We’re looking for reliable, self-directed field technicians who prefer working outdoors, managing their own day, and being trusted to get the job done right.
This is not a typical landscaping job. Our Vegetation Control Technicians work independently, travel to assigned regions, and are responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure sites to a professional standard.

What you’ll be doing
- Vegetation and bare-ground herbicide applications at wireless tower sites throughout the South Texas region
- Operating professional equipment (sprayers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, saws, blowers)
- Light tree and brush trimming (up to 12 ft with pole saw)
- Maintaining truck, equipment, and job documentation (photos & reports)
- Traveling regionally, including 10–15 overnight stays per month (planned and paid)
What we’re looking for
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work independently and stay organized
- Willing to work outside normal working hours
- Physically capable of handling equipment and terrain
- Willing to travel overnight as part of the job
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
No prior herbicide experience required — we provide training and licensing at company expense.
Requirements
- Able to wear PPE and follow safety procedures
- Willing to work 10-12 hour days
- Able to be on the road away from home, Mon-Fri at least twice a month
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Able to read, write, and communicate clearly
- Pass background check and drug screening
