International Wine Accessories (IWA) headquartered in Petaluma, is hiring a sales associate to work remotely or in the head office and focus on our well established wine cellar and accessories business. The company currently has a team of three specialists dedicated to selling wine storage equipment and wine cellars to customers around North America and overseas. This position will be dedicated to selling our products into any residential or commercial environment. The products are primarily bigger ticket items such as cooling systems, custom and kit racking and larger wine cabinets and coolers. Maintaining an ongoing relationship is important. We have been in business for over 40 years and also have a growing manufacturing and distribution business in wine storage products.
Position Requirements
Education: JC or College Graduate. Preferred: Courses in construction, engineering or business. Experience: Minimum of three years experience in sales or business development. Preferred: knowledge of consumer products or our target market - the wine world as in collectors and hospitality trade as well.
Skills: (1) gauging the needs of the customer, (2) initiative and discipline, (3) strong time management and organizational skills, (4) strong computer skills, (5) knowledge and appreciation for wine and how the market works and (6) strong communications and interpersonal skills.A background in cabinetry, construction, or refrigeration would be an ideal foundation to have as you buildout a skillset in wine cellar design.
In office or remote: If you are located in wine country or nearby we would expect the salesperson to be in the office and with occasional site visits in Northern California. If remote, then that can work if you start with a strong relevant background and some time training in Petaluma.
Primary responsibilities:
- Responding primarily to inbound inquiries and leads- Identifying of potential customers and making outbound contact
- Qualifying the customer as to needs and budget- Designing cellars and cooling system with customer's goals in mind
- Working with internal team on quotes and product questions- Follow through on sales orders to make sure process runs smoothly for customers
- Providing feedback to the marketing team on market needs
- Assist in developing sales forecasts
Compensation for the position will be comprised of a moderate base salary and healthy commission based on a typical industry percentage. We offer healthcare and 401K benefits.
