Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures, and proficiency with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. In this role, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle insurance verification, and support the overall efficiency of clinic operations. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression upon arrival.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including data entry and documentation review.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with health information management standards.
- Assist with billing procedures, including medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), collection efforts, and documentation review.
- Support front desk operations by managing filing systems, appointment reminders, and office supplies inventory.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and specialized EMR software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft to streamline administrative workflows.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient intake processes and care plan documentation.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office or clinic environment is a plus!
- Proficiency with EMR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and appointment scheduling.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities.
- Bilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Office management experience including filing, insurance verification, clerical support and payment collection (Copay and balance due).

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
