Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our machining department team. This role is responsible for ensuring that precision-machined parts meet all customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a machining environment and a strong understanding of inspection tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong familiarity with CNC machining processes (milling, turning, etc.)
- Understanding of tooling, materials (metals, alloys, plastics), and machining tolerances
- Ability to inspect tight-tolerance, high-precision components
- Knowledge of surface finish requirements and measurement
- Ability to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts
- Perform in-process and final inspections on machined components
- Interpret and work from blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Monitor machining processes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications
- Identify non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
- 3+ years of QC/inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment
- Experience with GD&T and blueprint reading required
- Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 is a plus
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CMM programming and operation
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Internal auditing experience is a plus
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
