Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hands-on work and a strong understanding of residential home maintenance. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained- including light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general upkeep.
Duties
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance across residential properties
- Conduct basic plumbing repairs including fixing leaky faucets, unclogging drains, and replacing showerheads, toilet flappers, and supply lines
- Complete basic electrical work such as replacing light bulbs, switches, and outlets; resetting breakers and troubleshooting minor electrical issues
- Patch drywall and perform touch-up painting and minor wall prep
- Diagnose and complete minor appliance repairs; report major issues to supervisors or contractors
- Replace HVAC air filters, clean vents, and check thermostat function
- Perform general carpentry tasks including tightening cabinet hinges and replacing door hardware (knobs, locks, hinges)
- Maintain exterior common areas through sweeping walkways and seasonal tasks such as snow removal and leaf cleanup
- Log maintenance requests and completed tasks accurately via work order documentation
- Communicate professionally with tenants and supervisors regarding maintenance status
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment
- Basic plumbing and electrical repair experience
- Drywall patching and painting proficiency
- Familiarity with HVAC filter maintenance and basic diagnostics
- General carpentry skills
- Experience with snow plowing operations during winter conditions
- Proficient in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to log work orders and communicate clearly with tenants and supervisors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
