Position Title: Nurse Manager
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Summary: Ensures the UHC medical centers remain financially sustainable while delivering good customer service. Makes key business decisions and oversees day-to-day clinical operations. Works to expand medical centers to make it more profitable and better meet the needs of the local community.
Clinical Nurse Manager Job Duties:
- Provides twice a month training for CMAs and updates clinical skills.
- Goes over monthly performance improvement for CMAs.
- Reviews inventory (i.e. vaccines, medical supplies and medications)
- Reviews provider schedule daily to ensure appropriate scheduling and decrease errors and assist with patient triage at front desk.
- Assist CMO, QI/QA nurse with patient complaints and offers feedback and solutions.
- Provides oversight to nurse care manager to ensure tracking of patient follow-ups; nurse care manager contacts hospital liaison to coordinate patient schedule post hospital or ER discharge.
- Perform weekly huddle with CMAs and shares organizational announcements.
- Will provide backup in event of staff shortage.
- Assist MAs with proper documentation of all metrics.
- Assist medical records with expediting request and ensuring documentation is in patient’s chart prior to visit.
- Works with physicians and providers to develop business strategies and patient services.
- Designs and implements workplace procedures.
- Liaises with general practitioners, nurses, and other medical practice employees to ensure they have necessary support.
- Manages practice and department budgets.
- Oversees daily practice operations, including appointment scheduling, billing procedures, debt collections, cleaning, security, and occupational health and safety.
- Controls the supply of medications and medical equipment.
- Manages patient records and IT system.
- Evaluates appointment procedures and patient services.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises new clinical administrative employees (i.e. patient navigator, patient coordinator)
- Recruits new patients.
- Interacts with patients and gains customer feedback about the practice.
- Addresses patient complaints in a compassionate and timely fashion
- Manages the production of patient brochures, newsletters, and other correspondence.
- Monitors practice's progress in meeting government targets.
Administration and Oversight
- Track CPR certification to ensure clinic follows all State and Federal regulations.
- Maintain order and track medical supplies for the inventory order of office supplies.
- Responsible for the completion and coordination of incident reports for the clinics.
- Conduct the annual maintenance review of all medical equipment and make recommendations to Chief Medical Officer.
- Schedule pharmaceutical rep/vendor appointments for the clinics.
- Track and audit patient data for quality initiatives as required.
- Coordinate patient quality survey with corporate compliance and Administrative.
- Attend internal and external meetings on behalf of the Medical Director as directed.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Attend and participates in staff meetings and in-services as assigned.
- Adhere to and support UHC’s policies, practices and procedures.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner and perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Work scheduled shifts.
- Serves as liaison between clinical staff and other areas within the facility at large, and as an advisor to other disciplines.
- Formulates, interprets, and carries out practice policies and resolves operational problems and keeps lines of communication open with clinical staff and physicians to ensure high productivity.
- Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and protocols for operations and personnel systems and objectives.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and works closely with administration in developing and operating within defined departmental budget.
- Provides statistical data and reports.
- Coordinates the purchase of medical supplies, drugs and other office supplies.

- Leadership Skills, Management Skills and Experience. Experience with FQHC/RHC is a bonus.
- Knowledge of Relevant Software, Computer Literacy, Budgeting Skills, Accounting Skills and Analytical Skills. Experience with eClinicalWorks is a bonus.
- Ability to Work as Part of a Team.
- Health and Safety Knowledge.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business or Health Management
- Registered Nurse Degree
