Ice Rink Events is hiring a Venue Manager for the holiday-season ice skating rink at the Winter Village in Curtis Hixon Park!
Position Overview:
This position is a full-time, seasonal position, starting in October 2026 and ending in January 2027.
We are seeking outgoing, enthusiastic Venue Managers to join our team! The primary function of this role is to oversee the day-to-day management of a seasonal, outdoor ice skating rink. We are looking for professionals with demonstrated management skills. As the nation’s largest provider of seasonal ice rinks, we bring the joy of ice skating to the masses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management and overall success of an outdoor, public ice skating venue.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a seasonal staff team, ensuring clear communication and strong team performance.
- Handle general administrative tasks including scheduling, daily reporting, and bank reconciliation.
- Manage the daily operations of the POS and online ticketing/waiver system.
- Ensure the highest standards of guest experience, safety, and venue presentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to support logistics, deliveries, and event programming.
- Develop and execute on-site schedules, run-of-show plans, and event timelines.
- Anticipate and troubleshoot operational issues, making real-time decisions under pressure.
- Oversee all aspects of daily rink operations, including ice quality, ice maintenance, and general rink upkeep.
- Be prepared to assist with and perform hands-on operational duties as needed, including operating the ice resurfacer/Zamboni, maintaining ice conditions, and supporting other rink maintenance responsibilities.
- Step into operational roles as needed to ensure the venue remains safe, properly maintained, and fully operational throughout the season.
- Oversee setup and tear down of the venue alongside the professional install team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a passion for hospitality and guest services.
- Must be able to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong leadership and communication skills. Creative problem-solving skills are a plus.
- Experience or interest in ice sports is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, and lift on a daily basis.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays.
