Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tree Climber Foreman to lead our tree care crew with energy and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee climbing operations, supervise crew members, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. We are a smaller company and our tree crew does everything from large crane takedowns to small ornamental prunings. Small family team environment, some days are very easy, some days are longer. Must be proficient in climbing, rigging, bucket work and pruning. Our company focuses on quality work, and is run by a certified arborist and degreed horticulturalist who cares ALOT
Duties
- Lead and supervise tree climbing crews during pruning, removal, and planting projects with enthusiasm and precision
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices
- Coordinate daily schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best approach for tree care, landscaping, and construction tasks
- Train team members on proper climbing techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures
- Maintain equipment, tools, and safety gear in excellent condition for optimal performance
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management to ensure project success
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising landscaping, tree care, or horticulture teams with strong leadership qualities
- Ability to prune to industry standards
- Tree ID abilities
- Skilled in tree climbing techniques and arborist practices with a focus on safety
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance including lawn care, gardening, irrigation systems, and general horticulture principles
- Ability to assess sites for pruning, removal or planting projects accurately
- Excellent communication skills for supervising staff and liaising with clients
- Physical stamina for climbing, lifting heavy equipment, and performing outdoor work in various weather conditions
