Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process customer transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, providing friendly and professional service at all times
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including cash, credit, and debit card payments
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays when needed
- Ensure compliance with store policies on phone etiquette and customer communication standards
- Support inventory management through stocking, product placement, and basic merchandising tasks
Qualifications
- Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
