Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Client Services Coordinator – Bristol Veterinary Clinic
Bristol Veterinary Clinic is hiring! We are looking for multiple team members to join our growing independent, privately owned small animal practice in Oswego, Illinois.
We are currently hiring for two separate positions:
- Veterinary Assistant
- Veterinary Client Services Coordinator

Bristol Veterinary Clinic is a busy, full-service small animal practice offering general medicine, surgery, dentistry, canine and feline reproductive services, canine and feline neonatal care, OFA/PennHIP radiographs, and more. We strive to practice the highest caliber of veterinary medicine with gold-standard patient care and attention to detail.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Veterinary Assistant applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Client Services Coordinator applicants do not need to meet the same lifting requirement, though comfort around dogs and cats and occasional assistance with pets is helpful.
Veterinary Assistant responsibilities may include:
- Assisting doctors and technicians with appointments, treatments, procedures, and patient care
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
- Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and supplies
- Communicating professionally with clients
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed
- Using practice management software to help manage client and patient information
- Helping with laboratory work, radiographs, surgery prep and recovery, and medical record documentation as appropriate
- Supporting the team with daily clinic flow and patient care needs
Client Services Coordinator responsibilities may include:
- Greeting clients and helping create a positive first impression of the clinic
- Answering phones, returning text and email messages, and scheduling appointments
- Managing appointment flow and helping keep the day organized
- Communicating professionally and kindly with clients
- Checking clients in and out
- Collecting payments and reviewing basic invoices
- Relaying appropriate information between clients, doctors, technicians, and assistants
- Helping maintain accurate client and patient records
- Using practice management software to help manage client and patient information
- Keeping the front desk and client areas clean, organized, and stocked
- Supporting the team with daily clinic flow and client service needs
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous veterinary clinic, animal care, medical office, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred, depending on position
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good communication skills
- Comfort working around dogs and cats
- Ability to stay organized and productive in a busy environment
- Attention to detail
- Comfort learning and using basic technology, including practice management software, text and email communication, Microsoft Word, PDFs, and other daily clinic systems
- Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow with the team
- Kindness, warmth, approachability, and a generally outgoing, affable nature
- Interest in cross-training within the clinic is a plus
Schedule:
Full-time or part-time candidates will be considered.
Bristol Veterinary Clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM.
Additional on-call and/or weekend hours are available for reproductive services, depending on candidate interest and clinic needs.
Candidate hours are flexible for the right person.
Pay:
Compensation commensurate with experience, skill level, and position.
Expected range: $15–$20 per hour.
