As a PRN Communications Officer I, you help ensure every Dispatch call for Emergency and non-emergency needs is answered quickly, accurately, and professionally. This entry-level role exists to connect residents with the right help—especially during Medical incidents—by coordinating information and resources in real time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receive, question, and process incoming calls; determine priority and route appropriately
- Dispatch fire, medical, and other agency resources; serve as a clear liaison between callers and responders
- Use computers and communications equipment to enter data, document activity, and maintain required records
Required skills/qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal communication
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under high-stress conditions; calm, professional demeanor
- Basic computer proficiency (typing/data entry) and ability to learn radio and CAD software
- Must be dependable; 18+; available for 24/7 rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
