Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Cook menu items with precision and consistency, following established procedures and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently to ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are sanitized and ready for use
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and uphold health regulations
- Contribute to inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service role is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with plating, food preparation, and cooking in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- The ability to work respectfully as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support staff
