Status: Both part-time and full-time candidates will be considered but preference given to a full time candidate.

General Description
Almosta Ranch is seeking a dependable, horse-savvy team member to help lead and grow our equine programs.
This position combines trail rides, riding lessons, horse camps, animal care, and ranch operations. Every day is different, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys working with both horses and people.
The ideal candidate for this position will simultaneously teach riding lessons while coordinating and implementing an equine program that benefits the Community. Working with the Owners and other key staff , this position should adhere to existing policies and procedures and make recommendations for modifications or additions as required to optimize the functions and programs at Almosta Ranch. Team-based model of leadership and management of the programs and functions. As such, the Equine Director will attend staff meetings, listen to concerns and ideas, and provide updates on key measures to the owners.
Essential Functions
- Lead guided trail rides
- Teach beginner riding lessons
- Assist with horse camps and educational programs
- Groom, tack, exercise, and care for horses
- Monitor horse health and report concerns
- Feed, water, and manage daily horse care routines
- Assist with pony rides, birthday parties, and special events
- Help train horses for ranch activities
- Maintain a clean and organized barn, tack room, arenas, and pastures.
- Provide outstanding customer service to guests
Qualifications
- Confident horse handling skills
- Riding experience required
- Experience teaching lessons preferred
- Comfortable working with children and families
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Able to work outdoors in Louisiana weather
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
