Position Overview
We are hiring a Certified Pool Technician to maintain and service swimming pools and spas at our portfolio of premium short-term rental vacation properties in the Smoky Mountains. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring all pools and related equipment are safe, clean, and operating at the highest standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences and 5-star reviews.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in pool maintenance and service
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation and smartphone with photo/video capabilities
- Required Certifications:
- Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) – Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA / NSPF) or equivalent
- Demonstrated expertise in chlorine and saltwater (SWG) pool systems
- Hands-on experience and training with gas and electric pool heating systems
- Knowledge and service experience with dehumidifiers and mini-split HVAC systems (especially for indoor pools/spas)
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- Additional PHTA/NSPF certifications (Certified Pool/Spa Technician, etc.)
- Manufacturer-specific training on major brands (Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, etc.)
- Experience with pool automation systems and controls
- Prior experience servicing pools for short-term rentals, vacation homes, or hospitality properties
- Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge for minor repairs
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled weekly or bi-weekly pool and spa maintenance (water chemistry testing & balancing, cleaning, brushing, skimming, filter cleaning/backwashing, etc.)
- Maintain proper water chemistry and sanitation for both chlorine and saltwater systems
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain gas and electric pool heaters
- Monitor and service dehumidifiers and mini-split HVAC units
- Inspect and report equipment issues, needed repairs, or safety concerns
- Provide detailed digital service reports with photos after every visit
- Respond to emergency pool-related service calls
- Ensure all pools meet health, safety, and aesthetic standards for short-term rental guests
- Maintain accurate chemical usage and service logs

Pay: $22.87 - $27.54 per hour
