We are looking for a Pediatric Coding Specialist who values accuracy, teamwork, and integrity. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our providers are supported, our documentation is compliant, and our practice remains financially healthy so we can continue delivering excellent care.
This position focuses on reviewing pediatric documentation and assigning accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes while working collaboratively with providers and the billing team.
You will be part of a supportive environment where communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement are encouraged.
- Review provider documentation and assign accurate codes
- Code pediatric E/M visits using current CMS guidelines
- Ensure proper modifier usage when appropriate
- Code immunizations and preventive services
- Review downcoded claims and assist with appeals
- Identify trends and work with the team to reduce denials
- Communicate respectfully with providers regarding documentation clarification
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance
- CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent certification
- At least 2 years of pediatric coding experience
- Strong understanding of E/M coding guidelines
- Experience working with Medicaid managed care and commercial payers
- Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
