Job Overview
We are urgently hiring experienced Environmental Services (EVS) Technicians for a hospital in Tampa. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in hospital cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial services who are ready to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position starts as temporary, with the potential to be hired full-time by the hospital after completing a required number of hours.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Follow infection control and hospital sanitation protocols
- Dispose of trash, biohazard, and medical waste properly
- Restock supplies (linens, paper goods, PPE)
- Respond quickly to on-demand cleaning requests
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized environment
Requirements (Must Have)
- ✔ Minimum 6 months – 1 year of EVS, housekeeping, janitorial, or hospital cleaning experience
- ✔ Clean background check
- ✔ Proof of vaccination records
- ✔ Ability to pass a drug test
- ✔ Reliable transportation
- ✔ Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
Preferred (Not Required)
- Familiarity with infection control / CDC standards
- Experience in high-volume or fast-paced environments
Schedule
- Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts available
- Weekends may be required
- Full-time & Part-time openings
