Facilities Support Technician (Part-Time)
Lowcountry Montessori School is seeking a dependable and motivated Facilities Support Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for daily custodial duties, supporting school events, and ensuring the campus remains well-maintained and presentable.
This is primarily an evening position, working 3–5 days per week. Typical hours are 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with flexibility based on scheduling needs. Previous custodial or facility maintenance experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock restroom facilities to ensure they remain sanitary and well-supplied.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling throughout the campus.
- Dust and clean furniture, windows, fixtures, and other interior surfaces.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events, meetings, and special activities.
- Perform end-of-day building security procedures, including turning off lights, securing entrances, and locking designated areas.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs in a timely manner.
- Follow all school policies, custodial procedures, and applicable health and safety standards.
- Maintain custodial equipment and monitor cleaning supply inventory.
- Participate in seasonal projects, including summer deep cleaning, floor maintenance, and other campus improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial services, janitorial work, or facility maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, walking, climbing, and reaching throughout the workday.
- Dependable, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other staff members.
- Must successfully pass all required background checks and meet school employment requirements.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
