Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team to work with us on Fridays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall well-being of our patients. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions.
- Apply fluoride treatments or sealants.
- Maintain accurate health records.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and manage dental equipment functionality, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition for safe use.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times while fostering a welcoming environment that encourages open communication.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures.
- Proven experience in general dentistry.
- Proficiency in using dental software for documentation and dental records management.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, healthcare regulations (HIPAA), and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse age groups effectively.
- Experience with dental x-ray procedures and vital signs monitoring..
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
