G.L. Williams & Daughter Trucking is looking for a dependable mechanic to help keep our trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment running safely and reliably.
This is a hands-on shop position for someone who can troubleshoot problems, make solid repairs, and take pride in doing the job right. Our fleet supports local hauling, pit work, roll-off service, and material operations, so we need someone who understands that downtime matters.
About the Role
This position works on a mix of diesel trucks, and heavy equipment. The day-to-day work may include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, welding, documentation, and responding to issues reported by drivers or management.
We are looking for someone who can stay organized, work independently, and help keep equipment ready for the field.

- Other heavy equipment and support equipment
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake issues
- Repair diesel engines, suspensions, driveline components, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Complete inspections and safety checks
- Address driver inspection reports and equipment concerns
- Use or understand Samsara for vehicle reporting and diagnostics
- Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation
- Perform welding or fabrication when needed
- Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
- Communicate clearly with drivers, management, and other team members
- Help reduce downtime and keep equipment available for daily work
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of diesel, truck, hydraulic, or heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general diesel repair
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment
- Ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs when needed
- Basic mechanic tools required
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and stay organized

Pay and Opportunity
Starting pay is $25/hour or more, depending on experience and ability.
