Job Overview
Deli Cashier, where your energy and enthusiasm will create a welcoming experience for every customer. Your role is essential in ensuring smooth operations at the counter while fostering a family-oriented environment that encourages repeat visits and customer loyalty. Our customers are from all different backgrounds and can be feisty so having a thick skin is a requirement for the position.
Duties:
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greeting customers, being friendly and professional
- Handle cash, EBT and credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell products by suggesting additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented and aren't expired
- Assist with inventory management through stocking and merchandising tasks, including inventory counts and product placement
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive experience
- Daily cleaning before the end of shift (sweep/mop, wipe down.)
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math to handle transactions accurately
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Experience in grocery stores or retail sales is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Thick skin and strong personality.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
