The statuary operations position at our state-of-the-art garden center in South KC, MO is a role which requires for a hands-on, self-motivated team member to take ownership of our statuary and fountain area—from receiving and merchandising to sales, delivery, and installation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, helping customers, and seeing a space come to life through great product presentation.
What You’ll Do
- Receive, check in, tag, and place all statuary and fountain shipments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and highly shoppable statuary & pottery yard
- Keep display fountains clean, filled, and running properly
- Assist customers with product selection and provide knowledgeable recommendations
- Load customer purchases safely and efficiently
- Deliver and install concrete fountains at customer homes
- Perform minor repairs, touch-ups, and staining to maintain product quality
- Re-tag merchandise as needed (missing tags, price updates)
- Work closely with merchandising, receiving, and sales teams across locations
- Take initiative daily—prioritize tasks and keep the department running smoothly
- Assist other departments as needed, especially during peak periods
- Customer locates on Google Maps to determine special installation considerations
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Age 21+ with a valid driver’s license (KS or MO Class E) and clean driving record (past 3 years)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, including a drug screen
- Ability to lift and move heavy products (team lifting required) on a daily basis
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Self-starter with good judgment and time management
- Detail-oriented with pride in maintaining an organized, attractive space
Preferred:
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
- Retail, outdoor, or garden center experience
- Experience with deliveries, installations, or hands-on work
