Field Merchandiser - Grocery
Position Summary
The Field Merchandiser – Grocery is a key member of the Operations team responsible for driving in-store execution, merchandising excellence, and category performance across member locations. This role partners closely with store ownership, department managers, and Category Management to implement strategic merchandising initiatives, optimize product assortment, and enhance the overall customer experience. The Field Merchandiser acts as liaison between stores and HQ helping to leverage data, trends, and firsthand observations to influence decisions and ensure consistency with Co-Op standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Planning & Execution
- Prepare data-driven action plans prior to store visits using reports and performance insights
- Evaluate in-store conditions, customer flow, and merchandising effectiveness
- Identify opportunities and align on execution plans with store leadership
- Act as the field representative to ensure consistent implementation of Co-Op standards
2. Merchandising & Resets
- Plan and execute resets, remodels, and new store setups in alignment with category strategy
- Develop and maintain plan-o-grams reflecting current trends and assortment priorities
- Coordinate resources, timelines, and vendor participation for successful execution
- Track results through reporting, photos, and ROI evaluation
3. Product Standards & Compliance
- Ensure proper product rotation, inventory levels, and freshness standards
- Monitor sanitation, food safety, and adherence to company and regulatory guidelines
- Validate pricing accuracy and authorized product assortment
- Conduct competitive pricing and merchandising checks to maintain market position
4. Training, Communication & Collaboration
- Train and support store teams on merchandising standards and product knowledge
- Serve as liaison between stores, Category Managers, vendors, and HQ
- Communicate initiatives, updates, and best practices through reports and bulletins
- Gather field insights, trends, and feedback to support category and operational decisions
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Merchandising, Business, Advertisement, or related field).
- 2 to 4 years of experience in operations, merchandising, project coordination or a related role
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and collaborative tools such as Teams.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift 20+lbs
Preferred
- Experience in the supermarket industry
- Experience working with vendors or cross functional teams
- Bilingual
- Located in the NY Metro Area

Location: Field: Tri-State; concentration in five boroughs.

· 8:30am – 5pm
Salary: $70,000 – $85,000
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
