Overview?
Evergreen Virtual Academy (EVA) is an independently managed, public charter school for Kindergarten through 12th grade students in Oregon. When you join the team at EVA, you join a team of dedicated professionals working all over the state in a virtual environment to ensure the success of our families and students meet their educational needs and goals. EVA is authorized by the North Bend School District and accredited through Cognia.

As per our CBA, steps on our salary scale are not aligned directly with years of experience. To determine placement on the salaray scale, most will fall at half of their experience plus 2 additional steps. Please refer to details on pages 37-39 of the CBA.
- EVA pays the employee 6% PERS contribution and employer contributions toward health insurance premiums can be found in the CBA.
- This is a virtual position with some required in person events and/or PD. For additional information, please refer to the Events section of the CBA.
- The workday is 8am-4pm M-F.
Position Summary?
The High School GED Facilitator?is responsible for?providing high-quality virtual instruction, academic coaching, and student support to individuals preparing to earn their General Educational Development (GED) credential. The facilitator creates an engaging online learning environment that promotes academic success, persistence, and college and career readiness. Working collaboratively with school staff, the facilitator monitors student progress, provides individualized interventions, and helps students develop the skills and confidence needed to successfully complete the GED examination.?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities?

Facilitate synchronous and asynchronous online GED instruction in Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.?

Develop engaging lessons aligned with GED testing standards and adult learning best practices.?

Monitor student academic progress through learning management systems, assessments, and data analysis.?

Provide individualized academic coaching, tutoring, and intervention based on student needs.?

Build positive relationships that encourage student engagement, motivation, and persistence.?

Communicate regularly with students through virtual meetings, email, phone, and messaging platforms.?

Maintain?accurate?attendance, grades, progress reports, and student documentation.?

Utilize educational technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and student learning.?

Prepare students for GED testing through practice assessments, test-taking strategies, and individualized learning plans.?

Collaborate with counselors, administrators, special education staff, and other educators to support student success.?

Participate in professional development and staff meetings.?

Ensure compliance with state, district, and program policies?regarding?online instruction and student records.?

Develop?an appropriate tracking?system, shared with counselors and administration, that?monitors?student progress toward completion of GED preparation and completion.

Retrieves?and?shares?data?with?high school success team and data team??

Works directly with the?Aspire Coordinator?to?provide?students?with?appropriate?post-secondary?preparation,?programs,?and?services.?

Develops statewide resources to support students locally that are off-track in credits for graduation.

Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive, and supportive virtual classroom environment.?

Minimum Qualifications?

Bachelor's degree in Education?

Valid state teaching certification

Successful completion of background check and any state-required clearances.?

Experience working with high school students or alternative education.

Physical/Mental Demands
The employee is required to possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Human relations and communication skills are necessary to handle frequent personal and telephone inquiries received from students/families, administrators, teachers, classified employees, and others. Work requests are often received which require immediate attention setting up conflicting priorities for timely response. Sound judgment and a pleasant attitude are required in stressful situations. The employee needs to be able to attend in-person events as needed. The employee needs to be able to lift/move/carry materials, equipment or boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
